2GB Ram & a new GC (x1800 or greater) would be an improvement but it would not be as good as a AMD PC in my opinion. Best to see what Arne says though

IMHO thats all your PC needs to be updated.
Your X300SE is really low end in performance. 1 GB of RAM would be better, 2 GB aren't needed right now (only if you convert/edit very big video files for example).
I personally don't upgrade my gfx card now. I'm going to wait until UT2k7 (the demo) is released and then decide if I need a new one. Next generation graphic chips are going to be announced month before UT2k7 is released - no need to hurry IMHO.
And one more thing: The UT2k7 makers surely want to sell as much copies as possible - not only to ppl with highend systems. So relax...

looks like 2007 has been put back again, now june.
Release date
Currently, the game's official release date is sometime in the first-half of 2007.[7] It was initially rumored that the game would have been released the 2nd quarter of 2006,[3] with that date later pushed back to a broader "Winter 2006." In an interview at the 2006 Electronic Entertainment Expo (more commonly known as E3) designer Steve Polge mentioned it is likely to be released early 2007,[8] which was recently updated to the first half of 2007, meaning the game could be released as late as June 2007.
There is no known timeframe for console versions of the game, aside from the fact that they will be released after the PC version is released.
this was just a small part from wikipedia.
heres the full link if you want to see more.
