I am thinking of getting my new PC system now but just wondered if AMD Athlon 64 Dual-Core 4200+ will run all current games? i seem to remember a M8 of mine upgraded to a Dual-Core system, and he had a lot of trouble loading his games?
any help would be great.
thx all
Clive.

hmm, .. i have a Athlon64 x2 4400+ and no problems. But clive ... if u wana build a new system, u should buy a better one. Maybe a 4600+ oder 5000+. They r really cheap now Clive u have to know ... a 4400+ is like a 3700+ in most games at the mo. Becos they use only one core. Thats why u better buy a 4600+ or 5000+

Clive, any AMD Dual-Core chip is fine with every app or game out there. I'm also going to get one asap - prices are going down fast
Are you going for socket 939 or AM2?

Thx Arne Alex
well Arne, i think i can stretch to a 4600+ but that means i will have to settle for geforce 7600GT instead of a 7900GT trouble is i have to get everything new!
i shall be going for 939 socket Alex, not sure about AM2 yet, plus its more expensive, i was going to wait till 2007 came out before i upgraded, but theres games out now that i want to play, i played fear demo, but had to have everything turned down
thx for the help guys, i think i,l order my new PC in the next couple days

ouch .. nvidia ^^ omg ... don't do it ^^ Don't buy a geforce 7600 ... this gc sucks! ok .. the 7900gt is also not the best u can get. Have a look at the ati gc's. They have hardware video coding and HDTV. Ok ... maybe it's becos i prefer ati. but duno ... all i can say about nvidia is that i had a 6800 and only problems. Drivers r s*** and the screenquality is s*** too. Neva wana miss ati AMD and ATI forever ^^

i like ATI too Arne, but the PC i want to get comes as a package, they only have geforce cards to choose from, i know what your thinking M8, your thinking, why dont i get all the bits separetly, well i was gonna do just that, i have sourced the internet, and cant get them cheaper than MESH COMPUTERS can build it.

Very nice, Clive!
I just got myself the same CPU (for socket 939). Love it
And don't worry about the gfx card - its a good one. Right now is a bad time to buy a new card, because next generations gfx chips are going to be announced soon.
I hope you don't have to wait too long till you get your new PC

thx Alex, this ones got to last me a few years, this was the best i could afford.
Arne,,,, i thought about ATI, but from all the reviews i,v been reading over the last few months, NVIDIA seem to be comming out tops in performance, like Alex said, the 7600GT is a good midrange card
Alex, i,m just waiting for conformation e mail from MESH to let me know when delivery date is, as you say, hopefully not too long
