General Pc Performance *Updated*

hi everyone..

where to start o.O

umm i have owned ut3 for a while now.. but never actually played it
as my pc wasnt fast enough..

i upgraded to a new pc.. which was...

xfx 8200 motherboard
4 gig 800 ram
5000+ dc athlon cpu
8500 gt gfx card running in sli with my 8200 (hybrid)
750 sata hdds

sadly this system still wasnt good enough to play ut
i got get around 30fps @ rez 640x480 min settings :S
infact all my new games were like this...
they blowed.. and i couldnt figure out why
the games ran so crap..

so yesterday i went to my local maplin
in this hardware shop they have a nvidia 9600 gso 348 MB gfx card for £80 so though hmm why not ill buy it take it home and try it..

in all honesty i didnt think this gfx card would make that much a differance to my games..

BOY WAS I WRONG

im posting this post in hope that some one in our clan still cant play this game because of hardware problems..

if this is the case and your short of cash to get a really high end gfx card..
which isnt needed... opt for one these nvidia 9600 GSO cards
jesus this card is fast... i can play ut3 at the highest resoltion with all settings on max 16xaa @ very high fps

this is the case with all my games.. i can now play them at the high resolution with all settings on max and this gfx card whips them along at an amazing rate (fps)

sadly i dont have inet line at home.. i am on wi-fi dongle thingy
which is crap!... but hopefully in the new year i will indeed get broadband again and play some games.. of ut3 .....

initally i didnt think i would like ut3 because of the hardware problems..
but now that i can play the game as its meant to be played....
i totally admit that ut3 rox its far better than ut2004...
although i love ut2004 and it will remain one of my all time fav games...
it just cant compete with ut3 on any level.. you just have to give ut3 a chance..

never again will i opt for a bargain basment gfx card.. this includes anything with only a GT TI GS for sure you need something with a little kick... anything below a 8800 gtx is just shite for gaming... strange how it took me so long to realise this.. i just never thought that gfx cards were so different.. in speeds.. :/ well now my eyes are wide open..

so next for me.. is to get a true none hybrid sli board and 2x 9800 gtx graphics cards i got the bug again to have a very swish pc.. i kinda been neglecting mine for a while.. cause i misunderstood what i actually needed to make my games run as they should be played.. just cutting 30 fps is no way to play a game.. any game..

so all in all .... if you strapped for cash and like playing games....
right now opt for the 9600 gso card and you wont be sorry about the £80 you spent on it.. its a very high end card at a very low end price..

Update...

i find this really strange...
ive googled much and every site i visit
call this gdx card crap (9600 GSO) which is the card i have...
i dont understand why its rated so bad.... seriously for me...
its the best card ive ever had..

no idea why it runs so good on my system
some sites rate the 8500 gt better than the 9600 gso
this amazes me as ive swapped m 8500 gt for the 9600 gso
and im so glad i did i get 300% better games performance
with the 9600 GSO and that is no lie..

my system currently is..

xfx 8200 motherboard
amd X2 5000+ cpu
9600 GSO gfx card (None SLI)
dual boot XP/Vista
4 gig 800mhz ram
750 sata hdd

my performance of games in vista is slightly slower
than in XP on any game... but still average over 60fps @ 1280 resolutions
with everything maxed out..

ummm the 9600 gso got very bad reviews everywhere
but for me its the best thing since sliced bread...

maybe i got a super duper evolution gfx card lol...
no but seriously.. i dont understand why they say its so crap..
...

so that said.. i personally think the card i have is VERY VERY VERY good
but other people say complete opposite... make your own mind up..
